9. Dashboard
After sign-in your home screen is the Dashboard: a consolidated view of your workspace's balances, spending split, budgets, savings goals and most recent transactions.
Configurable stat cards
The dashboard shows two configurable cards (Balance and Expenses). Each card is independent and fully personalisable — settings are saved per workspace and synced to your account so they follow you across devices.
Available metrics per card
Balance card:
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Expected month-end balance | Opening balance + all transactions including pending recurring entries |
| Daily balance | Realised (executed) balance as of today |
| Scheduled transactions (net) | Net impact of still-due recurring entries for this month |
| Same day last month | Difference vs the same day of the previous month — direction arrow (↑/↓) shown next to the label |
Expenses card:
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Total expenses (with scheduled) | Realised + remaining recurring expenses |
| Executed expenses | Realised (booked) expenses only |
| Same day last month | Difference vs the same day of the previous month — direction arrow (↑/↓) shown next to the label |
Personalising a card
Click the sliders icon (⚙) on any card to open its settings panel:
- Highlighted metric — shown large at the top of the card.
- Visible metrics — tick up to 3 metrics; unchecked ones are hidden.
- Text colour — choose separate colours for light and dark themes.
Settings are saved automatically when you close the panel.
The card title always reflects the currently highlighted metric.
The "Same day last month" metric shows an up (↑) or down (↓) arrow depending on whether the value increased or decreased compared to the previous month.
Monthly opening-balance confirmation
On the first day of the current month, an orange Confirm opening balance button appears in the header (only on the primary account). Clicking it:
- shows the expected opening balance (initial balance + all transactions recorded so far),
- asks for the actual bank balance in an input field,
- if the two differ, automatically records a corrective Income/Expense transaction (in a hidden system category:
__opening_adjustment_income/__opening_adjustment_expense) and marks the month as confirmed.
This way you never have to tweak the account balance by hand: the real value from the bank lands in the transaction history and the calculated balances re-align themselves.
Chart range selector
Inside the chart panel a range switch is available:
| Range | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Week | A rolling 7-day window ending today, daily resolution. |
| Month | The selected calendar month, daily breakdown. |
| Year | The selected calendar year, monthly breakdown. |
| 3 years | The last 3 years, monthly breakdown. |
The Week range is independent of the month picker: it always shows the 7 days ending today, so you can quickly inspect very recent activity.
Mobile behaviour
On small screens (≈ below 768 px) the chart panel automatically slides directly under the stat card you tapped — no scrolling needed to see the related data. The other cards stay underneath in their normal order.
Recent transactions
A short list at the bottom of the dashboard shows the most recent items. Tapping a row opens the transaction detail; the See all link opens the full Transactions page.
Budget alerts
If a budget is set on a category and actual spending crosses 80 %, the related card switches to a warning shade (yellow / red).
Savings goals card
Under the budgets card, the dashboard now shows a Savings goals card.
- It displays active goals count and a short goal list.
- Each row shows progress bar, current/target amount and current goal status.
- The Manage button opens the Goals page directly.
Language and theme switching
The language selector and the theme switcher are in the footer, always visible at the bottom of every page. Your choices are preserved across sign-in and sign-out.
